V6 vs HEMI noise level

What about noise level? Is HEMI much louder? Googling seems to indicate that past models with HEMI (GC and other Chrysler cars) suffered from "ticking" sound. I have really good hearing and something like this can drive me nuts in the long term.

Anyone knows where I can find 0-60 numbers for both engines?

I hear no ticking on mine. Plus the cabin blocks out a alot of noise vs. last years model. Not saying it isnt an issue, it just isnt one with me, hope this helps.

I have driven both and besides thre joyful growl of the engines under full throttle....it is whisper quiet. It compares very well to my wifes 08 Lexus IS.....

You can't hear much of the hemi on the wk2 due to the noise insulation in the cabin. It's kind of a shame, really, because it's a sweet sounding engine.

The hemi is a lazy engine; it likes to hang out around 1700 rpms because it doesn't have to work very hard to move this vehicle. In that range, it's not making much noise. The 3.6L, being less powerful, has to work harder and thus makes noise levels comparable to the hemi. The tones are different, but the decibels are similar.

On the V6 I test drove I noticed a growl to it that was really surprising and cool. I have yet to drive the V8 but plan to this weekend.

I'm curious if the new V6 will somehow be more reliable then the V8, or vice versa?

I test drove both and what Scott says ... you can hear that HEMI engine more on WOT but that's about it

The V6 sort of whines while the Hemi growls! :D

Neither is really loud inside of the Jeep.

From Motor Trend "Round 1 and Round 2" road tests:

0-60
V6 8.4 seconds
Hemi 7.3 seconds

About that 7.3 number....

1. I wonder if they turned on Tow/Haul when testing. That will improve the 0-60, I think, by altering shift points to allow for more RPMs before shifing

2. I wonder if this vehicle was built before the shudder TSB went in. I think the upgraded software released for this TSB may improve acceleration rates.

its hard to clock a car while driving but ive beaten that 7.3 number i swear, i think.... when is someone going to post a speedometer pic reading over 100????? thats the real question....

Mine reads 140. I just haven't pointed the needle at that number yet.

Re: V6 vs HEMI noise level

the needle has to be on the number for it to count.....challenge time....
