A/C blower
A couple of weeks ago the blower on my a\c quit. The air was fine. You could feel it coming through the vents the faster you drove. This past weekend I checked it out. After checking all fuses related to the ac or blower we checked the relays on the fire wall. Nothing. Finally we found a resistor under the dash. We tapped it couple of time with a rubber mallet. Boom fan stated working.(better than before). But we notced it was very hot. Dose anyone know anything about these. Thanks

Re: A/C blower
I've never checked to see how hot it gets. But I replaced it all a few months back. Turned out the previous owner had hard wired the motor rather than buying a new plug (strange cause he'd spent an absolute fortune on servicing etc). The result was a melted motor!

This may have some useful info for you;

Re: A/C blower
I replaced the blower motor resistor on my wife's Cavalier. It got pretty hot and that's why it was in the blower housing. It would force air across it for cooling.

Re: A/C blower
Depending on if you have the manual temp control system or the automatic zone control, there is indeed a resistor or a blower motor controller mounted in the HVAC housing. Many times one of the connectors for the resistor or controller has melted due to overheating due bad contact. A new connector can be spliced in.
