"The U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the router module is $499. Dealer installation is estimated at approximately $35-50. Autonet Mobile offers wireless Internet account service at $29 a month, available in 12-, 24- and 36-month service plans. There is a one-time $35 service activation fee. Customer support assistance for hardware and service is available."

In Canada a better alternative is (same monthly fee...):

Just to clarify: the 36 Mbyte/sec is not your internet speed. This is the speed with which your laptop connects to the wireless router in your car using (probably) 802.11 G protocol.

Your internet speed will be limited by your cellular modem connection and is much slower. To find out actual speed go to http://www.speedtest.net/

its a cool feature...but with the cheap mobile hotspot cards, drives, and even cell phones that could be used as wireless routers...i dont see the point. Cheaper hardware and monthly prices not to mention greater mobility w the above options compared to the jeep wifi setup. Just my opinion though.

pretty neat feature, but i see very few people actually using this (maybe rental fleets?) as, like the previous poster says, there are mobile hotspot cards and smart phones capable of doing this. I use my iphone as a wireless hot spot for others in my car when we go on trips, so no point in getting this for myself.
