Really odd question

So Im in the process of selling my 1998 zj 4.0. I had a 3 inch kolak exhaust installed. Only problem is that I'm trying to get 3,000 for the car, and once people hear the exhaust, they aren't exactly thrilled about it. Is there a way to some how deaden it some how? maybe wrap it in something or somehow cut off the flow?

Im guessing you dont have the stocker....I would just have a quiet muffler put on....the bigger the better

I'd love to, except I need to have it sold by friday, and have two people coming tomorrow to look at it lol. Think high-temp exhaust wraps could help a little?

Re: Really odd question

Go to an autoparts store and see if they have a muffler ($20-80) then get it installed for another $50. The whole process shouldn't take longer than 2 hours and that is including buying the muffler.

Just tell them it's a free flow exhaust system you installed at great expense to improve performance and gas mileage...some people pick apart anything to get a lower price.:lol:

good point Blackdog. its all about making them feel comfortable with what their buying. Even if they don't appreciate the sound of a solid jeep lol

You'll be selling to a specific crowd...Not a soccer mom. Don't spend any more to get a sold. You want to make something off it not spending that money to make it something else.

think 3000 is fair for 98 zj, i6, 136k, excellent condition?

Re: Really odd question

If someone offered me $3k for my 01' WJ with the 4.0L i6, I'd hand the keys over in a heartbeat. Of course it has over 190k miles and a damaged rear hatch. But it also has leather seats, a new transmission less than a year ago, new 04' headlight housings, and a new set of new tires. :D

Of you can find someone willing to pay $2,500 or even $2k, I say take the money and run.
