rim search blues

ok so you guys along with my cousin and my dad talked me into lowering my expectation bar. I found a really aggresive mudder/at that i really like. only problem is i cant find a rim that fits the tire size. do any of you know where to get a 17x12.5" rim with a 5x5 bolt pattern. if i cant find one i will have to design my own and either have my uncle make them at his metal shop or pay to get custom rims.

Re: rim search blues

12.5"?

Are you planning on running a 16" wide tire?

For most 33s/35s that are 10-12" wide an 8" wheel will suffice.

Stay away from aluminum unless it's forged.

17x12.5? WOW! I hope you got the ponies to spin em'......LOL Theyll also have to be a crazy offset....

the tire size is 35x12.5r17. im assuming i need a 12.5" rim for a 12.5" tire. (thats what ive beem told on other sites.)

No, you need an 8" wheel for a 12.5" tire. A 10" wheel would be acceptable, too. The other sites are incorrect, unless they're talking about low profile street tires, which in this case does not apply.

Re: rim search blues

someone has told you the wrong info. I would stay in the 8"-9" range. 10" is hard to find to fit the fronts on the WJ/WK

Not with a big lift it's not.

Re: rim search blues

it would have to be really big

That's what she said

Re: rim search blues

Regardless of it being lifted, a 10" wide rim won't fit on the front, not without a wheel spacer.

Re: rim search blues

I'm also assuming that you drive a WJ since you plan on outing 35's on it. They don't make a big enough lift for a WK to stuff 35's under it. I've seen a super lifted WK with 34.?" and it requires some cutting and bending.

Just a quick FYI incase you drive a WK

Re: rim search blues

In other threads he said he does, indeed, have a WJ.

Plenty of 10" wheels that will fit with a *big* lift without spacers.
