Exhaust manifold leak...broken bolts?
How would I know if I for sure have this issue. From what I have read people say that it is a ticking sound coming from like the wheel well area. Since I don't know for sure, is this something I can visually inspect to see if something is busted? Anyone have pics or tips on where to look for this problem if it exists? Then I can just bring it in to Jeep to have fixed if this is something that applies to me. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I have it and i notice it right away at start up on a cold morning. Its a loud clicking/clacking noise that goes away in a few minutes.

Re: Exhaust manifold leak...broken bolts?
Your best bet to identify any exhaust leaks is to go to a shop that services a vehicles air conditioners system. They will have a smoke machine that they use to identify leaks in the AC system. This can also be used to smoke the exhaust system.

The smoke they use will leave a florescent dye that can be seen when using an inspection light. This will find any and all exhaust leaks you may have.

theres a how to thread for repairing it that should give you a good idea on what to look for. I believe the bolts breaks off and you can see a space
