Low oil pressure and engine light flashing

after i drove about 20 miles on the hwy this morning i noticed my oilk pressure was at 20 instead of the normal 40 when idle. it went back to 40 driving normal in the city but every time i was at idle it stayed at 20. No error codes came up but when i revved the engine to 4000 rpms the engine light started flashing but when it went back to 40 the engine light stopped flashing and the pressure stayed at 40 this time. anybody have this same problem? and should i just get it looked at ? BTW it was extremely humid this morning would it be a possible sensor malfunction?

input plz!

I would recommend replacing the oil pressure sensor. You can also buy a cheap mechanical oil preesure gauge and hook it up to where the oil pressure port is and just verufy if it's right or wrong.

last got while driving I got the p0304 code misfire on cyl #4 would this be any way related to the oil pump?

No, the oil pump is crankshaft driven. As long as crank spins and no other issue like clogged pickup or a faling oil pump it will make pressure.

Im wondering if this has to do with the weather messin with the sensors.... its been real cold in ny and all this crap started happening when it got real humid. Im gonna look into the misfire and see whats going on with the oil pump and chirp in later... thanx though

I would try a new oil pressure sensor since they are prone to fail amd not very expensive

I would definitely check the oil pressure sensor or buy an aftermarket oil pressure sensor to make sure it's getting oil. You definitely don't want to run the engine low if it's not getting oil.

The oil pressure sending unit is installed just above the engine oil filter.

You need a new Oil Pressure Sensor. Call them up and ask before you go.
