2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee MGIG RER Install

I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The current system does not have NAV, but has everything else. I purchased a used RER system on ebay which stated that it is plug and play and compatible with the 2011. Does anyone know for sure that it will work. I do not want to modify anything.

I hope not, but the more I read, it seems like its not compatible with the 2011. At least I bought it through ebay and paid with paypal. I even spoke with the guy on the phone and he assured me it would work..........so we will see.

All of the information that I obtained on WK Jeep and other sites say that the current system is low speed. Where can I find information to make sure.

I actually installed a RER in my 2011 Grand Cherokee. It was a simple 15 minute install and upgrade from the RES I had. You have to order a NAV antenna and get it flashed at the dealer. I have Uconnect as well.

I kept looking for a good deal and ended up paying slightly over $600 for the unit from a reputable dealer on Ebay. I also bought the NAV antenna for $40 on Ebay so add the hour labor at $98, I have roughly $750 in the whole deal.

The RER needs to have an AE engineering change on the part number. I forgot to add you need to replace the mic cable. As soon as you install it starts working but you have to get the CPU reflashed. I didn't right away and there's some conflicts going on such as the alarm going off a few minutes after locking with the push button on the key plus when you express up on the windows, they expressed back down. It only happened twice so it's not like a huge deal. Also, the instructions in the box for the mic cable are for a '05-10.

I forgot to add I work with a couple of guys who were Chrysler guys. One worked with the Germans on the GC and the other worked on the Durango. My Jeep buddy e-mailed his old friends at Jeep to confirm what was needed.
