Select trac in a 4.7HO?
I have an 04' 4.7HO, Im not to big on the full time AWD. Tight turns are not the smoothest. I know previous WJ V8's had the select trac( 2W, AWD, 4L, and 4H) Anyone know if you can swap transmitions?

Yes you can. The Drive shafts are differrnt. If you can get the DS out of a v8 with selec-trac they would work. Or you can get some Tom Woods shafts. If you drive it hard I would get them anyway.

It's not a hard job if you have good tools and are fairly mech inclined.

Two versions of the NV242 are used in the WJ, NV242LD and NV242HD.You Need The HD for a V8.Not sure about the driveshaft with
the HD might be the same? I'd probably get it with the case to be sure.
I've been thinking about this swap myself. The 247s have a lot of cold
weather issues plus I think it would be wicked with my vari-lockers.

I don't have an album for pics up here yet. I don't have any 242 swap pics though. Mine was factory, then I added the locker to the D30.

What pics did you want to see?
