WJ RPM Jump? --- HELP!
so cold weather has begun to hit jersey and now my jeep is goin crazy on me... right between 25-30 mph my rpm's will almost stick around 1500-2000 rpms and then suddenly jump up to 3000+ RPMs andthen go to where its supposed to be...this usually happens in the morning but also happens after sitting in the lot during school or even just at the store for like an hour...anyone else have this problem or know what it is?

Transmission maybe? Does it do it when the engine's idling? If it does when it's idle, it's very likely to be the IAC valve.

When it's shifting? Is it sticking when you shift? If so I know might know the answer!

Re: WJ RPM Jump? --- HELP!
My 99 4.0L WJ has JUST started to do this...If I baby it, right after 2nd or so it will "surge" a small amount, say 100-200 RPM. Enough to notice it and it is really annoying. It won't do it if I drive faster, but if i hold acceleration easy it will every time. I have no clue either!
