Fixing lock "horn" sound
A few days ago, after I cut out some mesh to size and made myself a mesh grille and did the lower valence as well (which came out great btw!) I noticed when I lock my car from the key fob, the horn that sounds off or beeps rather is a totally different tune. It sounds weaker than before and it's rather bothersome. I turned it off for now, and I'll probably leave it like that but I'm not one to leave my things without them being fixed, regardless of whether I'll use it or not.

With that said, what could be the problem? I took a look under the car and found the actual horn the sound comes from, and the wires seem connected well and none of them appear pinched or anything, though I haven't taken the grille off yet to get a closer look. Any ideas?

Does your actual horn work properly?

Check the relay, it probably has nothing to do with the grille...I had to replace mine recently...

Yup my actual horn works just fine. You think it was just coincidental that the day I install mesh on my grille, I just so happened to need a new relay? It's a 2010 I bought used (turned in lease), I just hit 18k miles in it today.

Re: Fixing lock "horn" sound
oh, well i doubt it, i just doubt that a grill will affect the horn, i had that problem, where it would be faint, or sometimes not work when i lock the jeep, but the horn would work normally, and then it just quit on me all together, and it was a relay, but that was at 60K miles....
