car-part.com

you may want to consider a 5.7 due to the mating of engine trans.

no 6.1 comes with the same trans as the 4.7/5.7.

Re: Engine Help

How did the 4.7 die? I mean what happened to it?
I'd imagine any engine swap would entail the trans too as well as computer and a lot of wiring from the donor vehicle. Seems like it'll be a huge amount of work but man, it'll be fast!

Re: Engine Help

Swap a 5.7L because the Trannys are the same for the 4.7's & 5.7's like said above!

Rebuild your 4.7 and throw some boost to her ass.

Re: Engine Help

find a low mile 5.7 and swap it in. The gen 2 4.7 actually has better potential to build...but the 5.7 would be a cheaper straight swap if you dont want anything too crazy. A good 6.1 and drivetrain is gonna run you $6-8K. Then theres the electronic etc to figure out

Re: Engine Help

sorry to jack the thread, but can you put a nag1 trans on a 5.7?

In that case wouldnt the reverse be possible too? by putting a 545RFE on a 6.1?

Re: Engine Help

the problem is the electronics for the 545rfe
