500 is right. sometimes mine will dip below but it starts to shake and such, it'll sit at 450.

can we make that 500 or 550 steady using the superchips?

yes...the egr will affect the idle and cause some stumbling. I have no idea why the egr is not included in the maint. schedule????

cuz it costs money and they want us to pay for it

Threason is that the EGR is a LINEAR system, completely housed electronic unit and it is not recommended to use any typf of cleaning solvents within them. There are known issues with the EGR valves on the 4.7, as well as the 3.7 and 5.7.

EGR's can cause allot of diveablity issues depending on how it's malfunctioning. I am so glad I don't have a real EGR system on my 4.7.

Re: my 4.7L WK idles at 500 RPM

I have worked a few cars with them stuck open and it was creating a miss at speed and a rough idle.

If it sticks closed it just doesn't help clean up emissions. But will sometimes throw a code on some cars because it's not operating properly.
