730n - needs replaced

I drove my Gr Ch Overland 5.7 off the dealership lot last week, I hit a bump in the parking lot, the radio cut off and came back on in about 30 seconds. I thought it was just a fluke and maybe a loose connection. But as I continued to go back and forth to work, it kept cutting off more and more and one time, it cut off for about 15 minutes. I called the dealership, they came got it, and gave me a new Limited to drive. They called me next day and told me it wasn't a loose wire, it was something internal and it had to be replaced. It's on back order and they don't know when they'll get it in. Is anyone else having the same problem?

They quit making the 730N RER a while back and are gearing up for a new version- the 730N RHR, which will supposedly have some nice upgrades. Personally, I'd be glad I'd be getting the new one for free (unless they score a spare out of somewhere), but I'd be less than thrilled at the wait. Any chance your dealer might install a less expensive system for the time being (if it will indeed be a few months- maybe something like the regular 430)?

The 430 in my Laredo X is going to be replaced...the dealer ordered a new radio yesterday. My problem was the radio just froze all the time - can't change stations or adjust volume and none of the buttons on the side of the screen worked. Of course, the 430 is in stock, sorry about the 730.

I just ordered a 430N and UPS should be dropping it off at the door this afternoon. I'm told that it's not in the same league as the 730N but all the same basic functions are there and a few more not on the 730N like bluetooth streaming and playing thumbdrives from the USB port.

I too need a new 730n for my Overland. My back up camera display works 50% of the time. I was told a new one was on order but I have yet to hear when it will be in. I hope something comes in before January.

I wonder how much it would cost to get the new one in January...

The engineers indicated that there may be some kind of software upgrade in the works for RER owners. They said "both units can be updated," but they didn't explain what they meant- were they referring to just the maps or what? Given the likely complexity of the devices, I assume that they have the ability to gain features through software updates, but the cost is yet to be disclosed (not to mention what we'd actually gain).

If you're just talking a straight unit swap, I doubt the cost of the RHR would be significantly different than the current RER.
