DRL Voltage

Anyone know if the daytime running lights are constant 12 volt or if they run off a reduced voltage? Maybe someone with a voltmeter or someone at Chrysler?

I am talking to xenondepot to find some white led replacements and he needs to know that info.

Re: DRL Voltage

I don't know for sure but I thought they were designated DRLs and therefore constant 12 volt, unlike some cars using the high beams on low power. The fact that another thread talks about disabling them by simply unplugging their fuses also suggest that they are solely DRL and constant 12 volt.

I'm also interested in LED conversion so keep us posted.

I order white LED replacements for the DRL bulbs, license plate bulbs, and under dash curtesy bulbs. I will post pics once I get them and get them installed.

If these work out next step will be replacing all the turn signal, marker lights, and brake lights with LED as well.

This is the site: Xenondepot (one of the vendors here) runs it I believe.
http://www.KBcarstuff.com/Putco-Auto...ting-s/192.htm

These are the ones I ordered to replace the W5W bulbs for the license plate lights:
http://www.KBcarstuff.com/194-LED-36...30194w-360.htm

This is what I ordered for the under dash lights:
http://www.KBcarstuff.com/921-LED-36...30921w-360.htm

And this to replace the 3157K lights in the for the DRL:
http://www.KBcarstuff.com/3157-LED-3...33157w-360.htm

All should be Putco which from reviews I have read are good quality and pretty white rather than blue like many lights.

thanks.....let us know about the install and how they look. I would like to upgrade the DRL for sure...I hate the yellowish light they produce...

Re: DRL Voltage

Has anyone considered changing the lower outside reverse light into a yellow blinker? I personally think that would look better than utilizing a brake light as a blinker like the current setup.

Re: DRL Voltage

I'm sure that is how the Euro spec cars will work. I agree 100%, they should have used it as yellow blinker.

have you gotten your led's yet?

Nope little bit unhappy. Xenondepot said they would ship on the 3rd. Also said all bulbs in stock when I ordered according to the website. Now I find out the bulbs are actually shipped directly from manufacturer. (known as drop-shipping where the online "store" does not actually have any inventory but just takes orders and then orders from manufacturer and takes their cut). This would be perfectly fine if stated somewhere on the website but it's not. So yesterday they told me that the bulbs I ordered for license plate are backordered two weeks. I told them they need to ship me the DRL bulbs at least now and then ship the others later. Or cancel my order and I will get elsewhere.

anyone else found Putco brand LEDs from a place that actually has them in stock. -1 for xenondepot.

Any specific reason for wanting the Putco brand...

Also, I've PM'ed xenodepot twice and posted on the threads twice about HID fogs and can't get a response. I'm trying to use the forums vendors but come'on man.....
