Transmission shifting right?
I found out that there is technical service bulitin for an isolator on the front diff. They have ordered a new one and will replace it, I had a slight shudder when shifting. The mechanic said he felt it too and they would have to replace them on all their Jeep Grands.

I still have the feeling that the trans isn't shifting right, it seems to drag when you lift off the acelerator. I can loose speed going down a hill which seems like too much drag. Sometimes the shifting at lower speeds, say around 30-45 when in traffic is jerky and not smooth. Sometimes at low speeds when coasting it will go back and forth between gears fast and then smooth out.

Anyone else haveing these kinds of problems? I'm going to have them look at the trans when I have the isolator replaced. BUt it's hard to tell coming from a 1998 Grand 5.9 Limited if I'm just not used to this kind of trans or if I really have an issue?

If you look in the trouble shooting and problems header up above there is an entire thread dedicated to the shudder problem and the isolator change. It should have the info you are looking for.

Re: Transmission shifting right?
Yes the drag (engine braking) is normal. It is a lot like the mercedes transmissions. Probably something they added when they owned chrysler.
