Best wax for white cars?

I've been using (discontinued) megs professional mirror glaze #16 and while it seals well it just doesn't give that finished look I want. which current products can I use to achieve that?

its all in the prep bro...not the wax. Check out detailedimage.com(vendor here) for some awesome recomendations. Theres also some great detail threads in this forum.

thanks for the info! ive been browsing (and used to be a member on a detailing forum).

just finished my hood with meg's UC (great results on a white pad, washed my orange pad and will try that on a test spot tomorrow). We've actually got a detailing warehouse here in Tampa, its like a damn candy store! http://www.properautocare.com

Re: Best wax for white cars?

yup:) had it a while (also have an E34 BMW) but since getting my jeep (with a reliably deep clearcoat LOL) ive become more interested in using the PC.

I've heard that certain waxes are better for black vs white or that sealants are better for white because they bring the color out better. I'll check your link tho thanks!

I like Mequiers #21 sealant...others like blackfire and Opti-seal etc. Its all personal preference. But really...it is in the prep. I use meguiers m105 and m205 with the new Lake country hydro-tec pads, followed by the #21 Meguiers(2 coats) and then a couple coats of P21S Comcours Carnuaba. I plan a detail here in a few weeks with some #8 glaze, then #21 and P21s. Makes Inferno red POP.

Re: Best wax for white cars?

yes....m205 is the finishing polish...and is the BOMB! Its perfect for just light swirls, holograms etc. Try a hydro-tec Cyan colored pad with it. Its the best polish Ive ever used.

Re: Best wax for white cars?

In my eyes, I've yet to see any wax that really does much for white paint as far as looks. Instead I prefer the look of one or two coats of sealant over properly prepped white paint. Seems to me that wax just mutes what little pop there is with white. If you do go with 2 coats of sealant, just be sure to pay attention to the directions on the bottle regarding the amount of time to wait between coats. Never used the M21 but others that I have used need between 8 and 24hrs between coats.
