How to Uninstall Lower Piece of Air Filter?

I don't want to break anything, but how do you take off the lower piece of the Factory Air Filter Box? The piece that is connected to the front of the wheel well. The part where you place your Factory Panel Ar Filter on. I'm trying to install my bwoody CAI, but I don't want to break anything. Thanks!

IIRC there are one or two bolts that secure the lower air box to the fender/Jeep...I am pretty sure there is one in the base of the box, and I want to say these is another one out there...let me see if i have any pictures

There's another one that's also holding a black box in place iirc...good luck!!

Are those one/two bolts on the top or below the filter? I only saw one or two next to the coolant resevoir.

IIRC below the filter in the bottom of the filter box...when I had my Airaid I had to elave the bottom-half of the box in the Jeep...here is a reference pic, should be one right below the filter @ the bottom of the box.

I looked underneath and it looks like something is holding it. I'm going to try it again tomorrow. I will get pics if I am having trouble. This should be easy, but it's a pain in the arse!

there is only the one bolt by the resivor... then there are some compression retainers under the box... remove the bolt and standing beside fender grab the far side of the box (near the engine) and pull up and back towards you and you should be able to get the one on that side to pop out... common sense will get the others out.

DISCLAMER: if it takes a large prybar you either A: need more muscles and/or B: need to double check the situation.

I have checked. I'm not going to take it out because it's really rainy over here during this season. I will do it during Spring Time.

THanks!
