"Driving on a trail"

I was driving north on FDR (just got off the Brooklyn bridge) and had my nav screen on (430N). Nav said "Driving on a trail" - I thought it was hilarious.

Are you sorry you didn't get the Off Road Package? I was up last month my portable Garmin thought I was on the Gowanus, I was under it.

Yeap. Trail full of potholes.

Especially North bound on the FDR a little before the 61st street exit. There's a monster pothole in the middle lane that I hit one day and I thought I cracked a rim. LMAO

LOL my Garmin Nuvi 265T says "Navigating off road" when I drive on a street that isn't in its database.

I can't tell if you are serious but you can't expect GPS to tell the difference in this case - coordinates are exactly the same, only height is bit less (on GPS scale)

Good point, I didn't think of that as a possibility.

You think the East Side Drive is bad, the old West Side Highway had the same potholes but also had hairpin turns, merges from the center lane from under the highway, and constant construction. They finally just tore it down.

i ACTUALLY did that by mistake. turned too wide, missed the ramp, and drove about a quarter mile on what i thought was the on ramp only to find a bunch of bollards an a "no vehicles sign." oops. SO confusing to drive in downtown NY sometimes.
