First Mods!

Hey guys, just got the jeep about a month ago, a 2005 WK. First things I spent some money on were little things, an air filter, oil change, lots of detailing products to get her looking like new. The next thing im getting is a set of winter tires, BUT im trying to plan for the spring and the start of mod season ;). Im wondering about the intake and exhaust system on the 4.7 WK. I want to do an intake, headers and an exhaust, to let her open up and breath. From what im hearing a CAI is not available for our jeeps, but what about headers? If so what are my options? And lastly whats the most popular exhaust setup on the 4.7, I want something free flowing with that sexy V8 rumble :). Thanks for any help guys. (Im not afraid of a loud exhaust setup)

for the moment the AFE and K&N are the most popular intakes. I have the K&N becasue it deletes the intake resonator. There are NO headers for the 4.7 Jeep. For the exhaust...you gonna get a ton of opinions. There are complete bolt om catbacks....from Magnaflow for example....but the stock diameter remains. Personally....I would have a shop make a custom bent 3" exhaust with no mufffler and one resonator at the end of the exhaust. All these mufflers just create MORE drone. My suggestion if you dont want th expense of a custom bent 3" exhaust...would be to remove the HUGE stock muffler, add in a straight pipe in its place and then have a resonator welded in at the end of the exhaust...just before the tip. Then have a nice tip welded on.

Scott, your the man, does the combo of the intake and 3 inch pipe open it up nicely?
