Impressive.

But only really desirable if the maintenance requirements are well under what Ferraris normally require.

IMO, if they re-badged the jeep as a Fiat or Alfa Romeo, they will destroy its iconic image and heritage... the AMERICAN JEEP image will die.. Besides, If they put an Italian v12 in there, the SRT8 will lose its essence...

So what happens when the Dodge Durango rolls off the line?

It would more likely get a Ferrari v8...I doubt that v12 would even fit. I could see it getting a warmed over version of the 4.3 v8, as seen in the 430, as well as the maser gran turismo. I'm fine with them using the platform, but hopefully it would get all new interior and bodywork...otherwise it would just be like a Chrysler TC by Maserati from back in the day.

No indication in press reports whether the V8 "Maserati GC" will be sold in North America, even though likely to be made at Jefferson North. Anybody have info on this?

ferrari has that 350 cu in v12 in the 612...

400 hp and almost 600 foot pounds... but yeah you are probably right, its gonna get the 430 motor....

I bet it will still be a blast, imagine the engine note coming out of it @ 7500 RPM.

Im sure there will be a lot of work done to it, considering the price tag will probably double

Think he mentioned 75K for Alfa and 100K for Maserati version

Just add OEM forced induction to the current 6.1L or 6.4L on the next Jeep SRT8 and call it a day... I think with that combo it can reclaim the fastest high performance SUV out there period... No need for a complex Ferrari V12 motor to deal with. Leave an American muscle motor were it belongs.
I was sad to see that pic of the WK2 with a non Jeep grille, I hope it doesn't happen, even if it's only a European model.
But that's just me... :)

I am trying to find the article again, but Marchionne did say that it would obviously require new interior and exterior sheet metal design to justify 75K for Alfa and 100K+ for Maserati.

You seen this?
