Selec-Terrain question

this may be dumb
but since I dropped a whole lot of money on this new jeep I'ld rather ask a dumb question than ruin it.

when using Selec-Terrain- going between Sport, Snow, Auto, Mud, and Rock- do you need to put the car in park, neutral or anything like that?
Or can you just be cruising down the highway and switch the settings?

thanks in advance

Re: Selec-Terrain question

It's totally on-the-fly. For full information, check out the owners manual, starting at page 369:

You didn't change the Selec-Terrain setting while driving did you???!!!:eek::eek:

Your Jeep is ruined. As a favor, I'll tow it away at no charge. Please leave the signed title on the passanger seat.

I'm not trying to be a wise ass. But since you "dropped a whole lot of money on this new jeep", wouldn't be wise to read the owner's manual?

thanks for the suggestion.
but I think I missed it in the manual... go to page 369 where I was directed and as well as the Index on page 342 where it references 369 as the only place for info on Selec-Terrain -
I didn't see it say it was fully automatic and on the fly....
but I could be wrong and missed it.

Re: Selec-Terrain question

I think what he's suggesting, GSingh, is that it does NOT say:

CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION - Make sure the vehicle is stopped before switching modes - CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION

It WOULD say that, were it necessary.
