Hand Brake (foot actually)

When you press the hand brake, is the car supposed to move. (no engine power, just a hill)

I tried on a slight hill and it is like there was no brake at all. Also when I park on an inclined surface, the Park lock seems to be doing all the work.

Can anybody confirm if the hand brake is just for show?

A hand brake is a hand brake and is there to brake the vehicle. If it doesn't brake then you better take the truck to the dealer so they can check it.

Park on a hill, put in neutral, set the brake and see if it holds?

Mine is pretty weak as well, however it will hold. I have noticed that I have to press it pretty hard though - feels like I'm going to break it.

That's your new 2011 truck? Interesting.

Is it hydraulic or does it pull an auxillary cable of some kind?

Takes 3 clicks on mine and it holds on a 30* incline\decline. Bring it to the dealer and they should be able to adjust it fairly quickliy. Test it before you leave the dealer...put it in Nuetral, apply the e-brake (3-4 clicks), place the shifter in Drive and then press the gas pedal to see if it holds to your satisfcation.
