Garmin/430N nav problem: Address/City/Intersection "washed out" and not accessible!
 
Does anyone else have this issue? Sometimes after pressing "Where to?" on the Garmin 430N unit, the Address, City, Intersection, and a couple of the other "Where to?" options get "greyed out" and not accessible. You can still see them they are just washed out and if you press them nothing happens. Points of Interest and Coordinates and a couple of the other options stay bright and accessible at all times, even when this happens. I can't for the life of me figure out what causes this and I can't get the Address, etc., buttons back to normal without restarting the car. Turning the radio on/off doesn't do the trick.

I think these are supposed to be grayed out if your transmission is not in "P" - to prevent you from using them when moving. If they are grayed out when in "P" then you have a problem.

The transmission can be in any gear, but if the vehicle is in motion you can not enter in addresses or poi's. You must be stopped to do this.

The only selections you can make while in motion is selecting a previous address or one from your address book.

Wow I had no idea. Thank you so much for the replies. I feel like an idiot, my other cars don't do this. Oh well. The car is overall wonderful though. Again, thanks guys...
