an interesting note about MBRP exhausts
 
I've been looking at the MBRP 3" cat-back for my Hemi WK and I realized there were 3 MBRP models, all for the WK 4.7 and 5.7 that looked the same but were all different prices and different part numbers. I tried and tried to figure out what the difference was and came up with nothing. thus I decided that I would pester you guys about it so I started a new thread and began explaining the varying prices and how I couldn't figure out what the difference was. so I was right in the middle of typing in the part numbers as follows...

#1. S5508AL
#2. S5508304
#3. S5508409

and that's when it hit me.

for the first one, the AL at the end stands for aluminum. the 304 at the end of the second one stands for 304 grade stainless steel, and the third one is 409 grade stainless steel.

so since I spent a good chunk of my night being pissed off at google because I couldn't find an explanation, I thought I'd type this up quick in case anyone else ever stumbles upon the same predicament.

You could have made a post asking and saved some time. :)

If you are going to buy an exhaust, bit the bullet and just get the 304 stainless, Ive had mine for a while to replace a borla, and its awesome.

If you are going to order soon, PM me, I got the exhaust straight from MBRP and they left the invoice in which they charged the company i ordered it from, so I have the price that it cost the company to buy it so you know how far you can haggle

okay, give me a few days and I will let you know. getting working heat in my WJ is first priority, followed by tires for the WK but if I don't get robbed too badly for those I will be ordering the exhaust.

and I will definitely pay the extra for the 304. I put on right around 1000 miles a week all year round and I fear that if I go for 409 or aluminum it will be rusted out before winter is even over.
