Shuddering gearbox & few other things

Has anyone had a problem with a shuddering gearbox, air bag light coming on & off, stalling, coughing & spluttering when you take off?

All started with the air bag light, first EVER time i drove the car the light came on. Turn it off & started again, no light. Fine for a few days than back on

Than it was the gearbox, 3 blocks from home going up a hill. Box decided to start shuddering. Enough to make me move in the passengers seat & wake our son in the back seat. Again im left scratching my head. I thought it felt like it was in the back end, turned out 1 tire was down to 25PSI. Google-ing found that the brakes come on to slow the tire to meet the speed of the other. Hubs took it for a drive, didnt do it. Goes again & it did. Drive it hard it will, drive like a granny, it wont.

Yesterday when Hubs was on his way home from work (our thursday), it stalled. Im left with a WTF look on my face. Its auto, auto's dont stall!

Now its coughing & spluttering when you take off from lights

We've had this car for 3 weeks & had as many issues in that time. We're the 2nd owners, untill us it had never been of road, either dirt or sand.

Ideas, suggestions, anything? Its a really good car & we like (never happens that we both like the same car) but if it keeps going, its going to have to go.

3 years ago with had a 03 model, other than minor wear & tear. it was fine.

Oh, and it had low transmission fluid. Hunted high & low, got some put it in & its still doing this stupid crap.

You need to do what we call the "key dance" to see if any fault codes come up on the dash display.

With the car turned off, cycle the key 3 times to "on" (not start) .
The Jeep with do a self test and either come up clear, or throw you a code.
Tell us the code.
You might need a couple of attempts to get it to self-test.

Failing that, take it to a dealer and ask them to plug it into their Starscan, it will tell you what is wrong.

The issues you've spoken of are not common, hence I'm anxious for a code.

or take it to an auto parts store like advanced or autozone and they will pull the codes for free. Report those back. The stalling sounds sorta like what others have described with a failing egr valve.

Where would a code show? On the dash?

Please excuses my blondness, been a long day with the kids.

Yeah, same display as your tyre pressure monitoring/fuel consumption display.
