Exhaust question

Hey guys i'm new the the forum and looking to upgrade my 00 Grand Cherokee that i've had for about a year. Looking to put an exhaust on it. I want something throaty and deep. I have an I6 engine. Right now i'm looking at the flowmaster super 44. Any suggestions??

Re: Exhaust question

Imo I think a 44 would be pretty loud. Not sure it would sound right on a 6 cyl but I don't know much about about 4.0 exhausts. Maybe some of the 4.0 guys around here will chime in and help out.

Re: Exhaust question

Listen to some flowmaster mufflers on I6 grand cherokee's on youtube to get an idea of the sound. My 99 grand cherokee has the I6 and I have a magnaflow on mine. Yeah its loud but sounds great! I would have gotten flowmaster but the magnaflow was free so I went with it instead! Lol

Re: Exhaust question

cool What size piping do you have?. I'm thinking about going with the super 44 2.5 inch center inlet and 2.5 inch offset outlet.

Re: Exhaust question

I think that's what I have. Can't remember exactly as I did it like a year and a half ago, but I used the stock piping, just cut out the stock muffler and put the new magnaflow on with clamps and an extension pipe as the magnaflow was like half the size of the original muffler lol sounds beast tho :)

Re: Exhaust question

yeah i've read that the magnaflow was shorter than what we need for our wj's. i'm excited though to make my baby sound like a beast now haha.

Re: Exhaust question

I'm sure they make different length sizes, but this was given to me so I made it work lol. Oh yeah it will sound beast! Definetly makes driving more fun for sure! Your neighbors probably wont like how loud it is! Haha :p

Hi, I put a Gibson on my 2001 4.0l, sound is nice without sounding too loud, Performance is much better, I did install a Kand N cone filter as well, Helps the engine breath better, The gibson Gets the gas's out easier,Plus you have aStraight pipe out the Back, so better looking, Check out the Rear of my Jeep in my photo's.
