My status changed to "Shipped to Storage"--WTH does that mean?

My status went from "Pending Inspection" to "Shipped to Storage":

From:
Built - Pending Inspection (I)12/06/2010 07:16 AM ESTDetroit Jefferson Assembly, MI

To:
Ship To Storage (JS)12/13/2010 06:36 AM ESTDetroit Jefferson Assembly, MI

Does anyone know what may have happened in this situation? Not enought trains coming my way? No time to inspect it?

i honestly dont know how you guys put up with this shit.... Jeep takes your money, you start paying bills, and they dick you around.... more power to you, but way to go, Jeep.... comming through with flying turds once again.

lets hope that in your case, this means it has been inspected and is in shipping storage?

'Tis frustrating...

I am buying the vehicle cause I need one...

I don't really appreciate being screwed with AND paying this much money.

Nobody here will be able to tell you (including Milous). Could be any reason you mentioned or it was inspected and problem was found. Unfortunately from past experience vehicles can sit in storage for weeks.

It is frustrating. My Overland seemed to fall into a couple of black holes between ordering and delivery, for about a month each time. Neither the dealer or District Sales Mgr. could find it, or tell me its status.

It took almost three weeks for mine to arrive after it was shipped to storage.

That was something of a special case, I think. They quit shipping much of anything for a few weeks and just started stuffing the vehicles anywhere and everywhere.

Unless they hit something like that again I wouldn't expect the vehicles to be dropping off the face of the earth for a month at a time like they were in September.

I just called Jeep to see if my Jeep estimated to be done 12/22 has any hopes. Apparently it still hasn't even begun being built. She said to call back next week. This sucks and I'm debating bailing. I think if I don't get it by end of year I'm out.

IF your ship date is 12/22 and you want to get it by 12/31 I would be very skeptical that will happen. Depending on where you live, it could take a week or more on the train, then it has to get shipped from the railyard to your dealer and they need a day or 2 for the dealer prep that goes in before selling it.

Using my situation as an example, I have an estimated ship date of today, I got a call from my deler telling me that the Jeep is being built, is through fraiming, paint and the first set of quality checks. He hoped that if all goes well it will be ready to ship by Wed and I would most likely have it the week between christmas and new years.

This was a best case scenero and there are many points along the chain that could hold things up.

No worries. I'll keep a close eye on it for you.
