Downloading Data from My GiG Radio

Ok my question is what does it cost to have the dealer download the data from your my gig radio hard drive ?

It is possible to just download a copy of the data ?

I have alot of music on my hard drive that I don't want to lose and wonder if it is possible and what it would cost to download a backup copy of the data ?

Confused. Since everything on the HD was loaded there by you, can't you simply backup the source content? That said, I can see why you might want a backup of the radio's HD, to avoid the hassle of rebuilding your music from a number of sources should something happen, or if a service visit wiped it out somehow. This is actually a good question. Can we assume the user manual is silent on the issue?

We have to take it to the dealer in order to get a backup. It's not possible by a user unless you take out the hard drive and clone it.

Has anyone tried connecting a laptop to one of the USB ports (center console or on face of radio) to see if the HD is recognized as a mountable volume?

Believe it or not , I gave away alot of the source content I loaded on the radio's HD. My dealer had no answer to my question. I will try the customer sevice 800 number next.

I just thought some one on this messageboard might know the answer off hand.
