Weird low tire case

Took my Jeep to the dealer on Monday to get something looked at. On Tuesday I go to leave to work and right away low tire pressure message comes on. I get out and check the tire that is low. The Evic said 26psi so I decided to drive to the gas station and monitor the pressure. It moved up to 27psi so It wasn't leaking. It's been freezing here so the air was not working at the gas station and I had to get to work. I checked it a couple times at work and drove home without loosing and more pressure. I get home whip out the hand pump to put air in for the night. I could barely push and air into the tire, done this before and never this hard. Decided to spray a little WD40 on and in the valve stem. A couple tries of pushing air and finally air started going in and was easy. Not sure if the valve was froze from going into the dealers warm garage and then back out into the freezing cold. So far haven't had any more low pressure warnings. Is my guess on what happened even possible?

If it's due to low temperatures, all should have fallen equally. You may have a slow leak, ie. nail.

I recommend carrying small electric tire pump in the car - the one that works from cigarette lighter. I do, it fits fine in spare tire compartment. Besides situations such as this it may also help if you get stuck - then you can deflate all tires, try to get unstuck and inflate them again when you are on the solid pavement again.

Even though I have a 05 WK, my Spare Tire deflates due to the cold weather. I just filled it up the other day. It was at 25 PSI. LOL.

Yeah I'm going to look and see if I can see anything stuck in the tire. So far no change in the pressure

Finally found a screw in the tire. Never fails that I pick something up:(

I know the spare is not suppose to be matching, but it could at least be the same brand.

I'm glad you found the cause.
Falling temperatures will also lower your pressures by 1 psi for every 5 degrees Celcius.

It must have been on the bottom the other times I looked. This time I actually heard it after putting air in.

Yeah I already adjusted the psi for the weather.
