Completely torn between these 2 tires. Also should I keep the stock size or go up to 275/55/20?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated? Trying to get this done right after Christmas:D

I had a similar debate and went with the Firestones, which I give a thumbsup for nice blend of both snow and highway thus far. If I didn't need both 18's and love the 20's, I'd roll with these year round.

The TG had similar high ratings but I seem to recall it didn't come in stock sizes?

Check out the Tire Rack survey ratings if you haven't done so yet.

I tried Tire Rack doesnt have the terra grapplers. They both come in 275/55/20 which is a size larger than stock. I'm just afraid of rubbing. Scott said he talke to someone with the Terra Grapplers in that zise and they had no issues with rubbing. I hate me indecisive lol

Have you looked into the Nitto Trail Grapplers?

What are your goals with the tires? Street or trail?

Mostly Street, however I do hit the occasional trail. Nothing to crazy. A lot of backroad snow driving in the winter though.

For on road, I would go with the Firestones. They have way more sipes for better wet and ice traction.

I've had Destination A/T tires and loved them. Sure, they don't look quite as aggressive as other A/T tires out there, but the excel in many other categories - wet traction, snow traction, muddy trail traction, they were great in all those conditions. Where they really, really beat other A/T tires was in road noise - the tread pattern is designed such that the noise from the lugs destructively interferes with itself, effectively cancelling its own noise. They really were pretty quiet, especially for an A/T tire. I'll be buying them again when I wear out the stock michelins.

Have you considered the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2, 275/55/20. I have had this tire on a Ford Explorer, then 2 Grand Cherokee's. Look at the user reviews for it on tirerack.com. Truely a great all around tire and looks killer too.

I have been looking around for my next set for the past few months. So come tax time its the nittos for me! I trail quite often and do 200 mile trips back and forth to the folks. The nittos seem to be up my alley as far as performance in these categoris as well as price range. I will let you know how they handle when I get them! There is a thread already about the terra graps,---> Nitto Terra Grapplers Are The S@&t!

My next set of tires will be the Michelin 275/55R-20 as it is a really good all around tire especialy in snow and ice..
