3.6 slight whistle on acceleration

I have about 400 miles on a GC Overland with the 3.6L and I have notices it makes a slight whistle noise from 1000-2000 rpm while accelerating from a start. Has anyone noticed this or is it unique to mine? it is very faint but I can still hear it. I might have it looked at during the first oil change.

i know this isn't the correct thread for this - but what MPG are you seeing with your V6. Also, what trim level & if it is 4x2 or 4x4 would be appreciated. Still faltering between the pentastar and hemi and was curious the actual MPG for a loaded Overland 4x4 with V6.

I have a spreadsheet to calculate mileage of every tankful (going back with several vehicles 30 plus years before I knew what a spreadsheet was... yeah, I have a problem). And using fuel pump slip data, not EVIC witchcraft.

I have posted elsewhere about my first two tanks with my Overland V6 on mostly highway driving, with some snow drag and headlights on. Those were in the range of 18.6 miles per US gallon.

After 6 full tanks and 1750 miles my last tankful, again mostly but not all highway, was at about 17 miles per US gallon. This was also with headlights, colder outdoor temps, but clear road surface.

I'm not expecting that engine break-in is going to make much difference. What will is warmer weather, when the vehicle is not carrying the load of heated seats, steering wheel, idling, etc. and winter gas (more ethanol in the gas for sale where I live partly to counteract gas line freezeup). My other vehicles have typically gotten 20-25% better fuel economy in June compared to December, other factors being equal. So I'm expecting maybe 20-21 miles per US gallon in summer conditions.

Back to this thread topic, I have not heard any V6 whistle sounds. I have had the engine cover off though, and without all the sound deadening, there is a very slight tick, likely valves. So could even the Pentastar have a mild version of the famous 'Hemi tick'? LOL -- I'm not concerned about it. :)

I am inclined to think it's an intake tube either under or overtightened. If overtight can slightly crush plastic intakes creating a whistle.
