gettin rid of "float"
hey guys i got a 2010 3.7L GC a few months ago.

While driving I've noticed that theres a lot of "float" in the ride. Also, when going around curves in the road, if i hit a bump the jeep kind of jumps one way or the other and it feels like its not under control/ i need to compensate steering wise. Its not a lot but its noticeable, I'm sure some of you know what im talking about..

anyways, i was wondering what would be able to get rid of this... shocks/springs?

any input is appreciated

Re: gettin rid of "float"
welcome to the garage! i also hated the float on my truck!

#1 thing you should do is get a srt rear sway bar! you can search here and read how everyone loves the way their truck rides with the sway!

i can't tell you how much better the truck drives with just the rear srt sway bar!!!

you should be able to pick one up for around $90 or so

Re: gettin rid of "float"
the stock shocks/struts are a joke...get some new Bilsteins. I recommend both front/rear SRT sway bars.

Re: gettin rid of "float"
Adding the Bilsteins by themselves will help significantly!! My current setup uses them and i have no "floatyness", even with a lift and stock springs!!

X2 on the Bilsteins and srt sways. has the best price for the set.

Welcome to JeepGarage!!! I ordered my Bilsteins last week, waiting for their arrival. They will def take away the floaty Jeep ride. I will look into the SRT swat bars both front n rear but the shocks alone will be night and day!

Check out this post by Scott. Great advice on everything and any suspension! Good luck and have fun!

Are the bilsteins they have for the wk fine to use with a lift, or will they be overworked and only designed to be used with a stock setup?
