NX-1 --- 1987 Porsche 924 Carrera --- Paint Correction and more...

First official NX-1 Auto Detailing job.
This Porsche was not washed in a really long time, the owner told me he forgot when was the last time he washed it. Is wasckept garaged and all the dust and dirt was set on the paint, it actually felt like sand paper when I touched the paint on it for the first time. It had tons of swirl marks from the owner using a car duster on it.
Joe can tell you how rough the paint felt but the interior was a lot of work too, you'll see on the pics how dirty was inside, Joe helped me on this car and he did most of the interior and he can tell you all the work that got into it.
The car was washed using the two bucket method and then clay bared, you don't want to know how dirty that clay bar got in a hurry, then I spend some time doing paint correction using the Cyclo and finalized it with Gloss It Gloss Finish sealant.
The windows were done with Stoner Invisible Glass, and I had to use a blade to get rid of some old film that was still hanging on the edges of the rear glass. For the seats and interior dash and panels we use Gloss-It Leather cleaner and then two coats of leather polish, tires and trims were treated with Gloss-It T.R.V and then the tires where dressed with Gloss-It Signature Tire Gloss on top of the T.R.V. coat.
I'll have a new thread for each car I do, I'll have one for the Porsche also.
Joe thanks for your help and the excellent job you did.

One other thing... I thought I had pics of the paint under the work lights or sun before I started it but I don't, I have to make that a priority from now on before I start. But the before and after pics I have should give you a pretty good idea how this car was.

Also... I had to be extra careful on this old car, take a look at some of the edges and see what I mean.

Here's the before pics...

On this pic, it doesn't look that bad but it is... the paint was like sand paper and looks a little faded.

The back was very filthy...
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...e/IMG_9544.jpg

This is some white glue residue from a sticker he had there on the scoop.
In this pic you can also see how dirty the paint is and you can even see dirt sitting there, water marks and lots more.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...e/IMG_9518.jpg

As expected, rims and tires where very dirty.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...e/IMG_9519.jpg

That was extremely dirty on those areas on both sides.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...e/IMG_9583.jpg

Seats were dirty and faded.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...e/IMG_9503.jpg

Boy was this a dirty interior...
As you can see I took the seats out and not show but I even took out all the seat belts to really get in all the areas really well.

Take a look how dirty are all the vents and dash.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...e/IMG_9559.jpg

I removed the ashtray holder also to clean everywhere I could.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...e/IMG_9568.jpg

This dirty motor bother me through out the whole job lol.

Here are the after pics...

To me that paint looks wet, plus you won't believe how smooth is now, doesn't look faded to me any more...
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...0722091840.jpg

On this picture I wasn't done cleaning it yet, it got even cleaner than this when I was done with it. Neither the wing or trim was done yet either with the T.R.V.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...0722091549.jpg

I was able to remove all that glue residue from the hood scoop and that white spots you still see there was missing paint I retouched it with touch up paint the owner left me.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...0722091841.jpg

After this pic Joe vacuumed it a few times more and it was spotless.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...r/IMG_9590.jpg

Here's the other side, you can see I haven't installed the seat belts here yet.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...r/IMG_9589.jpg

The motor was not part of this package and I did not cleaned it, I just cleaned by hand around it just to make it look a little more presentable to the owner, I had the time so I did it.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...0723091232.jpg

Here's a few more pics showing different angles and how glossy the paint is now looking. Ohh yeah the exhaust tip was also cleaned and polished.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...r/IMG_9594.jpg

Owner ask for the tires not to be too shiny.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...723091240a.jpg

Doesn't it look like is wet...? And this is not even the Concorso gloss.
Pictures doesn't do justice to see the true before and after on this paint in this old car.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...722091843b.jpg

This car had some sexy curves don't you think... Not bad for being so old :D
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...r/IMG_9596.jpg

Hood pics... I love hood pics :)
BTW, that front wind shield looked like it got hit with a sand blasting gun all over. But still Joe did an excellent job with the Stoner.

I loved the way this Porsche looked after it was done. What a pain in the ass it was but hey from the results, it paid off.

Oh my god that is amazing. I think you may be able to work miracles on my truck. I have this crazy spot where my Sirius Attena is (don't use but looks like it hasn't been moved for a while (seems to have some weird water damage or something, have plans to remove the attena soon for a new one somewhere else. Hopefully it can be fixed. Anyway that looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Nice job! BTW the customer's liscense plate isn't blurred in one of the pics, don't know if it matters or not.

Hey thanks for the compliments guys!
Charlie, you should pass by ad visit one of this days and I'll take a look at your truck.
Matt, thanks and thanks for pointing that out.

Hey guys, the Porsche was picked up today, the owner was very impressed to say the least. Before he left he told me "I'll be back with my wife's car very soon, you did a great job on mine".
Comments like that make all the hard work put into it worth it.
