4.7 tuners

Is the superchips flash pack still the only tuner for the 2005 4.7 wk?

Looking for tire size calibration for bigger tires and things for better gas mileage more then HP gain.

CAI doesnt have any positive impact on MPGs

talk to airram...the SCT works on some 05-06 WK's....but it doesnt do what you want. The superchips sounds perfect for you Kyle

Ok thanks scott, I read through the description and some things seemed unclear.

https://www.superchips.com/#pn=onlin...talog&vfid=836

Now that i have very slightly larger tires (less then 1") Ive noticed a 2 to 3 MPG drop on the evic.

Though i would like to be able to change the setting for more power when i want it. It will also be good as i begin to collect parts to make a gen2/HO 4.7 over the next year or so.

Re: 4.7 tuners

In my experience of using the superchips for a little over a year now, I feel that my gas mileage is neither better nor much worse. The shift points are different and it feels better but I have noticed a mpg or 2 worse due to my driving style.

I am on fuelly and you can check it out via the link in my signature. I have tracked over 20k miles and id say around half of it was with the superchips and the other half of my driving was stock. I am still averaging 15mpg. I average 1500-1700 miles a month and half of it is expressway and the other half is city.

I do like the product and Id recommend it to people if they want to have fun with their rig but personally with my aftermarket intake, dynomax muffler, and superchips i get between 12-15mpg (calculated) per fill up and a lifetime so far of 15. Do i like my mods and would recommend them? Yes. They make the jeep sound cooler and feel better on acceleration. Do i think it helps out my mileage or performance? I don't think so. Take it for what its worth. Good luck Kyle, have a great new year.

P.S - For the next three weeks of driving I have reverted back to stock (sans superchips) to get another crude mileage calculation trying to see if it really is better or worse. I expect no change better or worse just like the few other times i have done this.

Re: 4.7 tuners

Ok i am still on the fence about it. Before when i had stock 245/65/17 GY tires i was getting about 11 mpgs in town and 15 to 18 highway. Now that i have slightly bigger 265/65/17s my in city gas mileage has dropped to 9 to 10 mpg and the highway is down to about 13 to 14mpg. The tire were free so i cant complain but i think i when i have the $ i will sell these and buy new tires in the stock size.

Yup same for me w my new tires. 255/70/17s. Supposedly you can fill your tires with Nitrogen (I think) and since it's lighter than air, better gas mileage...this is also what "they" say! haha

Anyone hear the same?

Re: 4.7 tuners

Kyle, On my 4.7 i have true CAI, ported TB 68mm, 180 t-stat, Cat-back and Superchips with trans tune and i get 20.5 MPG @ 65 MPH and local i get around 13.5 which isn't bad since i am running 33's.
