Air Suspension, Saddle, Bluetooth....Reservations...

I 've been obsessed with the new JGC since it came out. I plan to trade my Q7 as soon as I can get my hands on an overland summit in brown with saddle. I read some threads yesterday and I now have a few major concerns. I hope that someone can set me straight!

1) Is there really a big issue with the air suspension? I saw a post where someone claimed t o know a chrysler engineer and he said they wont have the problems resolved with the air suspension until 2012-2013.

2) What is the real deal with the saddle? I cant imagine that chrysler would be so stupid as to show that interior in every advertisement and then suddenly eliminate it. I have been hounding local dealers about this and they all seem out t o lunch.

3) Is there really a bluetooth issue? I have bluetooth in my Q7 and I live by it. I put on a lot of miles eveyr year, and I cannot imagine not having it work. Anybody have reliability issues with this like I have read?

Thanks a ton from a newbie!

I've had zero issues with the Qaudra-lift. Very few have reported any issues with QL. The few who have reported a problem went to the dealer and it was quickly resolved.

If your ordering a summit it "will" have the saddle interior, there is no other choice. Saddle has not been dropped as an option. There are supplier problems and Chrysler has decided to allocate what it has for "summit" production and put an ordering hold on saddle for other models at this time.

The main hang-ups for bluetooth from what I've read here is with the Iphones. There have been a few other cases of bluetooth problems, but by and large most complaints I've read have to do with Iphone connectivity. Supposedly there is a software fix coming soon for these issues.

As a long time BMW owner (have had nothing but BMWs for past 15 years), this is the first american vehicle that I've owned and am very pleased so far. I've had no issues with the QL suspension. As for the Bluetooth, I have been unable to use my iPhone 4 with the 730N UConnect but there is supposed to be a software update coming out soon to correct issue. I had many teething pains with Bluetooth and iPhone with my past 5 BMW's that software updates eventually corrected, so I'm not too worried. I would definitely recommend the GC

Re: Air Suspension, Saddle, Bluetooth....Reservations...
I have had 2 vehicles with 4 corner air from the same supplier, Continental. A Porsche Cayenne Turbo and a VW Touareg V8. The only problem I had was with the Porsche and the right front level sensor. Both of these systems were "open" meaning they compress external air into their storage tank and vent air to atmosphere when the suspension drops. The closed system is what they have gone to in the Panamera and the 2011 SUV's, or so I hear.

The WK2 I have on order has the QL (Overland) and having it available is one of the reasons I decided to move from the VW. I've become accustomed to the flexibility of the air suspension.

Saddle is going to add to your lead times unless you order a Summit. I wanted that but changed to Black interior since I'm impatient and after seeing my combo (Mineral Gray/Black) I'm actually happier I went with the more readily available black interior.

I expect to have some issues with the BT unless my 430N gets an update before it leaves the factory but in my experience they should be able to work it out and resolve it via a software flash.

The QL is not generally problematic, or if it is, we don't know that yet. There's been a couple people with an issue, but both have had it easily remedied. Mine and that of other people have worked perfectly. Personally, I'm not worried about it. My only concern might be a leak in the system, but it uses pretty standard nitrogen, and any competent service department should be able to get it fixed rather quickly if something does go wrong.

Saddle is hard to get thanks to demand for the Summit.

For Bluetooth, it seems limited to a couple things- the iPhone 4 and the music streaming. Mine (730N) works perfectly for the phone, and the voice command is far better than I'd expected it would be; it's way advanced over the HandsFreeLink system in my wife's 2006 Acura TL.

Thanks for the responses, and if folks have more, keep them coming. Nonethlesss I AM SOLD. I've had a 93 and a 2000 JGC and I am psyched for the 2011! Thanks again. BTW: Sice my 2000 JGC I have had a ML350, a 2003 Porsche C4s and an Audi Q7 4.2, GOODBYE German service and repair bills (assuming the JGC bills will most certainly be lower).....
