Tire size with SRT Reps

I'm wondering what tire sizes WK2 owners are running with the SRT replicas? Will the stock tire size 265 50 20s work with these wheels? I'm mostly concerned with clearance issues under the front fenders.

I know they will stick out a little (because of the 9 inch rim and the offset) but what about rubbing while turning? Can anyone that's currently running the SRT Reps tell me what tires they are running and how they are working out for them?

Goodyear GT II 275//45 20 front and back. I wouldn't say they stick out but they are not tucked in either...I would say they're about even with with the fender. No rubbing. I can't see how the 265/ 50 20s would rub either.

I have a WK but i dont think it makes a difference in the case of tire sizes..
I'm running a staggered setup:
Fronts: 255/45/20
Rears : 295/40/20
Love this combo.. but wont work out if you want to rotate, the 265/50/20 is a rather common size and seems to be a viable choice except that its almost 1.5" taller than the stock.. so although i'm not sure about clearance issues but definatley issue with the speedo

265/50x20 is the stock size on the WK2

I am new to the Jeeps so maybe this is obvious question, but couldn't you run the 20x10 SRT Rep size front and back to get the +50 offset (closer to stock)?

Or is a 10" too wide up front?

Re: Tire size with SRT Reps

The offset of the SRT 9" rims actually would help with clearance issues as it moves the tire to the out side. I would be afaraid with the 10" rims and the offset closer to stock there would be clearance issues.

P265 60R 20 is the stock tire size with the Overland rims (20x8). I see that there are some people on the forum running 245 50 20s with the SRT reps and I'm wondering if there is a reason for doing so.i.e...because the SRT rims are an inch wider that maybe they had to go to a smaller tire so it would work. I want to stay with the stock tire size with the SRT reps if it will work.

This size is .8 of an inch shorter and narrower than the 265 50 20. here's a link for the comparision. I think the 265s will work I just want to be sure. Thanks for your reply.

The only reason that I didn't get the stock size 265 50 20s is because the shops that I went to didn't have them in stock. I still may get the stock size or bigger to fill up more of the wheel well. My only concern with the stock 20's is the width. The 275s are wider than the 265s and even with the slightly extra width of the 275s, there is virtually no rubber overlapping the rim lip for curb rash protection. With the reps being an inch wider than the stock rims and the 265s being narrower, this might not be the best matchup with regard to protecting the rims from curb rash.

I stand corrected the 275s are about a 1/2 wider than the 265s. Thanks for letting me know about the curb rash protection I didn't think about that. Thanks again.

WRONG!!!!!!!!

The STOCK size on 2011 Grand Cherokee's is 265/50R20 Black Side Wall All Season Tires taken directly from the spec sheet. Perhaps you misstyped and meant 50 aspect.

According to the site you reference (thanks btw):

http://www.rimsntires.com/rt_specs.jsp

With 10" 50mm offset vs OEM 8" 54.5mm offset (same size tire):

Suspension 100% clear (leaves even more room than OEM)
Fenders Package will stick out 4 mm (0.2'') farther. Acceptable for most cars.
Wheelwells The same.

10" wide rim with 50mm offset should have same/more clearance since the tire width/height remains the same. I know it's not a good idea to get a rim with an offset much different than OEM so I want to stick within 10mm of OEM. The SRT Rep 9" rims have a 34.7 offset compared to the 54.5mm OEM. That will make them stick out 19.8mm or ~.8".

I would try the 10" 50mm offset rims all around unless someone knows of a reason that this wouldn't work.

Thanks everyone.

Did you go 20x9" all around?
