Oil Change Door?

I will be towing my Overland behind a motorhome, so today I installed the tow bar brackets. I'll do a post with pics on this later for anyone interested.

When I got the vehicle on the lift I noticed there is a plastic type guard similar to a skid plate between the lower fascia and the front crossmember. In this gaurd is an opening to access the oil drain plug and filter on the Hemi.

The opening appears to be designed for a removable door with 90 degree twist latch. My unit only has an open hole here and no door. My question is did Chrysler decide to eliminate the door for cost savings before or during production? Or did my vehicle get delivered without this piece? Are any of yours like this or do they have a door covering the opening?

Mine is open, I think that is normal for the 5.7

Mine is open also. I have the 3.6. I am tempted to duct tape is closed, as the opening serves no purpose that I am aware of.

No cover on mine. 5.7L. Looks like normal access to drain plug and filter.

Mine is the same and I'm sure it's intentional.
