plastic juck

Is there any aftermarket intake manifold & valve covers that will fit the 06 4.7 that is NOT plastic juck? Or is the only thing you can do to make them look good is to paint them? If so can you give an around about what the price would be? Thanks guys for any info..

Re: plastic juck

The reason the intake manifold is plastic is mainly to save weight, plus plastic will not heat up or retain heat like metal, putting colder air into the cylinder, so = more power.

The plastic manifold also has smoother inner surfaces than a casting would have. Smoother surface=smoother airflow=more power!

So will painting hurt it? Like maybe some gloss black. If they make gloss black paint for engines?

you can add the 08 intake manifold...youll just have to get a csutom SCT or B&G tune for no EGR....

painrting it will be fine...mine is inferno red

Can I put a gloss color on an engine? Did you paint yours in gloss inferno red? I got a friend that's going to make me a CAI (Something like the bwoody) for my 4.7 & he's going to paint it blue. So i don't know if i want to paint my intake blue (or) black. But i was wanting it to shine. Cause i show it in the summer time. Just don't want to much blue.

I used the same paint a body shop would use and cleared it. Its a high gloss and looks just like the exterior paint. No problems with mine yet.....same with my cai
