Brake Upgrades

I am curious as to what everone recommends for a WK (no srt8) break upgrade. My rig has 138,000 miles on it. Its about time to replace the pads and rotors all the way around. I am always the one to upgrade stuff if I need to replace parts (if possible). I noticed the SRT8s run brembo style setup.

Is there a noticeable difference? In the TJ community alot of people upgrade to EBC brand pads and rotors... any recommendations?

your gonna get a lot of opinions. R1's seem good...theres also Wagner and Bendix from your local autoparts stores that are good

Re: Brake Upgrades

what do you mean by AM pad? As far as stock rotors would this be like the duralast rotors? or would recommend the advance, orielys, napa flavor?

Also do the drilled and slotted rotors have any benefit for our jeeps? I do alot of highway driving and like tow heavy trailers once in a while

X2...stock rotors last a long time. Rather than resurfacing the old ones, I would buy new ones along with a good pad. Thermoquiets are popular; may look inot Akebono's street pad if they are available for the WK. Upgrading the suspension will also do a lot more for stopping.

The OME rotors seem to warp really fast. Are there any other rotors that will last longer without warping so easily?

Also, will Thermoquiets cut brake dust to a minimum? I hate brake dust and that's all OEM gives me.

That's why I am looking into upgrades, my rotors are warpped... good to know that it wasn't just me!

I don't care what people say. You are always going to have brake dust. Performance > Brake Dust

I think I'm going to try R1 Concepts' Premium Cross Drilled with the Posi Quiet Ceramics.

I know there are rotors out there that won't warp as easy and brake pads that don't give off as much dust.
