lifting without disabling air suspension
 
The manual says to disable the air suspension before jacking. Is there any repercussion if it isn't disabled? I'm sure a lot of people and shops do not know this so I'm guessing jeep has a fail safe for this. Thoughts?

It's my understanding that if you didn't disable it could start trying to correct itself, it would seem this could be an issue if you were trying to change a tire? I'm not sure if it would try to correct itself if the ignition is off or not. Everytime it's been necessary to raise it the QL has been disabled on mine so I'm not sure what it would do if the ignition is off.

I was leaving the door open so it wouldn't adjust while changing my tires out. What I will do next time is (read this in one of the TSB's) is to hold down on both of the "up and down" select terrain buttons simultaneously for so many seconds as this will disable the system. Then once the vehicle is driven again over 5MPH it will reset itself and start working again.

Has anyone tried this yet?

I tried that on a demo and it works and is the correct way to lock the system.

The problem is, if you are raising the vehicle it tries to maintain level so as you lift one side the other will try and level itself. This can make it shift and fall off the jack or lift. It can and will do this even if the vehicle is turned off and you are out of the truck. I was standing 5 feet away from a demo Overland talking to the salesman and for no reason the front end lowered itself to regain level. We were out of the vehicle and it had been turned off but probably only for 30 seconds. My other SUV's with 4 corner air did the same thing. It can also cause a problem by draining the air from all 4 corners when the entire vehicle is raised deflating the air bags and causing the compressor to run until it overheats.

Almost every car with an air suspension has to be disable before jacking it. Its normal.
