Unloaded from railcar and.....

This entire process has been very frustrating. I actually order my overland on 7/31/2010. I k ew there was a delay in the process due to the saddle Interior,so the official order date is 9/22. After months of waiting and no answers from anyone,my truck now sits in NJ approx 65 miles from my dealer. It waS unloaded on 1/6/2011,with a delivery date of 1/10/11.After many calls I can get an answer. I have recieved emails and phone calls from jeep and a 3rd about how I am enjoying my new Jeep. To me it's an insult! This has been a very bad experience from chrysler/jeep from top to bottom. Any advice???

That is a seriously long wait... perhaps the recent storms have impeded the transport vehicles, but I would start by hassling the dealer personally.

Mine set 20 miles away "unloaded from railcar" from 6 days before it made the 30 min drive across town.

Damn. Well mine made it to Roanoke, VA yesterday evening. Now it needs to take a train ride down to Winston Salem to a storage lot and from there by car Carrier to Wilmington. I already called the dealer and told him I have off next Friday in the hopes that it will make it there by then. We will see. He said he has connections if it makes it to the transfer lot to expedite the process to the car carrier.

Funny thing is the salesman was surprised mine had already been built(ordered 11/27, built 1/7/11) b/c another Overland that he ordered two weeks before mine is still sitting at D1. No Saddle interior or any other restrictive add ons that would delay it. Strange.....

EDIT: Damn, just checked. Mine was unloaded from the railcar in Winston-Salem 40 minutes ago. Whoo-hooo!!

Mine sat about a week in Newark. I understand your frustration but this is not unusual. There is usually nothing dealer can do.

Just to update.. The truck has arrived at the dealer and I have signed the reg form and looked over the vehicle!! Looks great!!! Blackberry pearlcoat/saddle. Picking up on Monday order date 7/31/2010.. Saddle order place 9/22/2010. Recieved 1/17/2011. It's been a long wait, but hopefully it was worth it. A BIG thank you to Milous, the support from fellow jeep owners, and the website for all the great info!!!

Am I reading this correctly? you ordered the Jeep back at the end of July and your just taking delivery in a couple days? Ok that deserves a WTF. 5.5 months???

Re: Unloaded from railcar and.....

true I ordered 7/31, the saddle interior was a late order and the dealer at that time didnt know when it was going to be available. So as soon as it was,the dealer places the order 9/22. But I did sign the paperwork in July. It was nice seeing the vehicle tonight, but the excitment was lacking because of the almost 6 month wait. Hopefully that all changes when I officially have it Monday.

oh ok I see so I guess technically is was more like the normal 3 monthish wait because the order wasnt put in till towards the end of september. I think the excitement will come back once it becomes real. Atleast thats what everyone on the forums has said. Congrats!
