Replacement Battery
I have a 2007 Overland 4x4 I need a replacement battery. I was going to get an optima but they do not have a direct replacement. I tried interstate they do not either! I really want an optima, anyone put with into a 2007? What part did you use? I want the red top.

Re: Replacement Battery
Find a battery wholesaler in your area and tell them you'll buy the battery from them if they do a free install. I'm not quite sure if you're talking about the battery terminals aren't the same or the battery mount doesn't fit or what, but you're going to have to buy the parts anyways and a battery wholesaler will give you free labor if you buy everything from them. GL.

Re: Replacement Battery
The issue with optima was they did not have a red top for a 2007 jeep, physical size wize, and amps wize the terminals were not an issue. I also checked with interstate batteries they do not even list a 2007 jeep!

Re: Replacement Battery
I did some research and found on wkjeeps it said my battery size is 94r I checked another site and it said the size was 65 so I am not sure what the size is.

Anyone use an optima battery?

Re: Replacement Battery
Assuming your vehicle is stock, all you need to worry about is the CCA. The optima has a higher CCA than your stock battery, so you'll be fine. Get new mounts and install it yourself or go to a battery wholesaler and have them take care of you.

Re: Replacement Battery
Walmart FTW! $79 installed, and it had more CCA IIRC

Thats a very unnessairy amount of power in a car, if you need that much u must be starting the space shuttle every morning or something. No reason to spend that much when you can get an interstate that works just as well.

No reason to spend over $79 if the battery comes with a 3 year just saying..

Re: Replacement Battery
It's going to be -25 degrees in Minnesota tonight. In places like this, it definitely pays to get a good battery. It's actually quite dangerous to be stranded in this weather with no heat. The gel in AGM batteries does much better in the cold versus traditional flooded cells and you don't have to mess with a battery blanket. Just sayin'.

Re: Replacement Battery
Our batteries are a group 94r. The thing about finding a battery for our jeeps are that the posts are reversed than a standard battery. Like where the normal battery has the positive on the right, ours have the positive on the left.

The best standard battery used to be duralast.

If you need a new battery get a group 49 battery instead of the 94r that is from the factory. The group 49 has around 1000 cca's as apposed to the 94 that has around 700 cca's. Also the our battery, the 94r is about $150 in any auto parts place with a decent warranty and the group 49 is less than $100 with a good warranty.

The group 49 is a little wider so it will be a tighter fit but it will fit.
