I need me a ground; anybody know where I can find one in the cabin?

I'm installing a flashlight charger on floor in between my back seat and center console and I'd like to find the easiest ground to tie into. Anybody know where one is easily accessible at that's in that area? Thanks.

Well the whole metal body is ground. So maybe you could connect a ground wire to a bolt under the front seat. Otherwise look under the sonsole for some for access to the body/frame.

Off the top of my head there is a ground under the passanger seat on the back side of the hump that the front mounts bolt to...

ANYTHING that bolts into the body will be a decent ground, so long as you remove paint or anything else that would prevent metal to metal contact. Well that and also so long as the item your grounding to isnt isolated from the body in some way.

I installed the mount by drilling through the floor. I can see the screws coming out the bottom of the vehicle. I had to drill through metal. Does this mean I could tie my ground to the screws that are touching the metal body? Looks like testing for a ground is out of the question... http://www.faqs.org/faqs/electrical-...ection-31.html

That article is talking about grounding a home wiring system (120 and 240 volts AC). Grounding electrodes are usually 10 foot steel rods driven into the ground! A house needs at least 2 if I recall correctly. That is a very different thing than the 12 volt DC car system. If you have drilled through the floor, then you have your grounding location already. To be sure of a good connection check the continuity with a 12V check light. And make sure you use crimp on connectors on the end of the the grounding wires.

Use a volt meter and find a bolt. Verry easy.
