Off Roading Mid Winter In California...
This is a 2 part JG member day of romping, January 2011 in Northern California and Southern California! Ryan, (blackpepper) feel free to post your pics up when you're done. Warning: Pic and Video heavy!

This was a test of not only my WK but also some mods I've done!

My Jeep: 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7L Hemi 4x4
Mods I was testing:

Bilstein HDs
4XGUARD Matrix Brush Guard
Firestone Destination A/T 255/70/17
DiabloSport Predator 91oct Tune
Hi-Lift Jack
Plasti Dipped Wheels

I went to a place North of the San Fernando Valley called Rowher Flats OHV area. I usually go dirt bike riding there. It was a perfect 75 degree day! (sorry East Coasters!)

Anyways, enjoy the thread!

The start of all the fun

to be continued...

Re: Off Roading Mid Winter In California...
And now on to the videos!! Moderators feel free to embed them if you want..:jump:

My overall rating on my Jeep is a 9! I loved all my mods but I def need to get at least a 2" lift. I did bottom out 2 times (I was kinda hauling ass) and I scrapped my skid plate once!

Reviews on mods

Bilstein HDs: Love love looooooooooved em!!!! But, I do need a rear sway bar. The Bilsteins are nice n smooth, but kinda floaty. Nothing like stock and a much better improvement over-all!

4XGUARD Matrix Brush Guard: Perfect for mowin down bushes and what-not, great for mounting lights, and makes my Jeep look tougher! I didn't have to use it in any emergency type scenario (being stuck) so that was good! ;)

Firestone Destination A/T 255/70/17: Best tires I have ever owned period end of story!! They've proven themselves in the rain, snow, dirt and mud! I recommend them to anyone!

DiabloSport Predator: Wonderful mod!! I filled up my tank when I left home and it's 35 miles to Rowher Flats. After romping for 2 hours and 30 miles, I made it home with over a half tank! My avg MPG WHILE ROMPING was 15MPG! Not too shabby!

Hi-Lift Jack: Still a virgin! hehe :D

Plasti-Dipped Wheels: I love this sh!t!!! I hammered my Jeep up and down trails, tossed it in a river and stream, through bushes, hucked rocks left and right, and this stuff is still looking great!!! I do have 2 small places I'm gonna touch up. But otherwise I highly recommend it!!

Well, that's it, that was my day of off roading here in sunny warm Southern California! Hope you all enjoyed my side of the post. Hopefully Ryan will post some stuff soon...
