I've used DAS a couple of times and been pleased, and also used Fedex Custom Critical and very pleased.

Your big choice is enclosed or open. Big price difference. I've shipped both ways. If possible, try to "top load" meaning it's on the top rack. Less chance from something to drip or fall on it.

You can also find some small carriers with two or three car transporters.

Pick up a Hemmings Motor news or Google auto shipping or auto transporters and you'll find a lot of choices.

Last thing, asked questions about "door to door" shipping. You might find a carrier that will take the car half way, unload in a transfer yard, then another carrier will take it on from there. The more times are are loaded and unloaded, the greater chance for something bad to happen. When I've shipped open, I've always requested top/front load, meaning it gets loaded first on top and stays there until it arrives at your house.

I can't give you a specific rate for your request, but I can tell you this from experience.

1) Google auto transport. There are many companies that transport classic cars and you might as well use one of them.

2) The rate will depend on if you want it shipped on your schedule or theirs. ie: using one of their regularly scheduled runs is cheaper than a dedicated run just for you.

3) Insist on a closed transport, it's more expensive, but much safer for your vehicle.

4) Just to give you a ballpark idea, when I sold a 67 Chevelle to a buyer in N. Carolina, cost was $1400 for a dedicated run. Yet, when I bought a car in Canada I only paid $1100 for a regularly scheduled run to Chicago metro and that included all the customs stuff for crossing the border.

5) Any reputable carrier will gladly provide their bonding, DOT, and other info on request.

Hope this helps.
