A "Carnival" of fun!

I know a LOT of you guys are not going to like this, but once I saw it I just had to get pics and post here.

This is a 1999-2001 Kia Carnival minivan with the beginnings of a TRUE murdered theme.(apologies to any blacked out rides, but true murdered is flat/satin paint AND blacked out trim)

The hood scoop is stock and functional, more importantly, so is that phat-azz intercooler taking up the front fascia!

I've said before, the Korean Domestic Market products they keep for themselves are not anything like the cars we know them for. Carnivals( Sedona in the USA), are usually diesel, AWD, manual shift, and really a very rugged machine. A good Korean friend of mine has a 2009 fully loaded diesel automatic, leather, TV's and the works, and it's a very capable ride. This one certainly looks modified. I've noticed a lot of modified diesels around lately, and the Drag Nationals they have near Seoul now have a diesel bracket.

I have to say, not bad for a mini-van. I'd sport it.

The (true)murdered theme is also catching on around here. I've recently seen an I30 hatchback done up in satin black.

Hate to bash on such a unique vehicle but I could appreciate a fast minivan if it had a little sleeper/under the radar look going on, this doesnt. The scoop/spoiler need to go and the side skirts look like they were crafted out of cardboard. imo of course.

Like I said, the scoop is stock and functional. I'm not particularly fond of spoilers on SUVs and vans myself, so I agree there, but the side skirts? Cardboard? Uhm... not really. It's a tighter kit than most of the ricer civics I see. At least this body kit is all the same color! I think the dirt/salt is messing with your perception.

Man I quite like that. There are a lot of Kia's over here.

Aaron, do you get the diesels? In the USA, we only get the gas engines. Almost every Hyundai or Kia I ride in here is diesel and way more powerful that what I'm used to from them in the states.

I would say about 90% of them are diesels here Ron. Most 4x4's or SUV's here tend to be diesel, because of gas prices. That said diesel is becoming more expensive too. Most diesels here have turbos. We have a Vauxhall Corsa van at work and I drove it down to Hereford once (about 400 mile trip) and that thing flew!! It was insanely quick for such a small car.

It's just boxy and flares out where it meets the fenders, doesn't blend into the vehicle is all i meant. Maybe toned down a notch or two and I could dig them a little more.

Looks like someone cracked open those headlight housings though, more balls than myself!

Not necessarily. The Carnival has a huge following here. There are clubs surrounding this and other vehicles(that would surprise you) to rival that of Civics and Eclipses. These are probably off-the-shelf projector/custom/halo/etc. headlights. You should see the Sonata headlights I've seen. VERY nice!

I'd rock it if I had to rock a minivan

I think I'd rather go the murdered out Flex if I had to pimp anything resembling a minivan though
