codes....

2002 i6 97000 miles with rebuilt tranny and new pcm not to long ago. throwing codes 0123, 0135, 0155, 0455, 0720, 1763. Also on startup it revs to 2000-2500 and holds for a good 30 sec then slowly drops to normal idle. i am going to unhook the battery to clear the codes while im doing the quad mod. any help with these? i rather do it my self than pay someone to do it.

Re: codes....

The P0123 code refers to the TPS sensor. P0135 and P0155 to O2 sensor heater bank 1 and 2, P0455 to EVAP leak detected. P0720 an output speed sensor of the tranny. The last one i don't know. See if any (or more) codes will return after the batt disconnect.
I also did the Quad mod. On my WJ it was easier, because its a WG, which already had light armature installed for the fog lights. There are some writeups on this mod under the modification section.

Re: codes....

And when you start it up it returns normally to 650 rpm, or stays still high for 30 sec? Could be the TPS sensor itself.

Re: codes....

nope still stays high.

Re: codes....

The idle itself is ok, not rough? In that case, most probably a new TPS sensor will solve your problem. You could clean the TPS connector first with contact cleaner, to rule out any corroded or dirty pins.

Re: codes....

ok will do. and im going to take a guess and say the evap leak is the high pitch noise comming from behind the back left wheel

Re: codes....

At least there is the EVAP cannister and leak detection pump placed. Strange though that the fault code for the EVAP leak didnīt return after the battery disconnect..

Re: codes....

ok so i tried some seafoam a couple of days ago stuff works. I checked the codes again tonight to see if any more came back, all the previous ones are gone but i picked up a new one 0720.
Low Output SPD Sensor RPM Above 15 MPH? is what it says on wjjeeps.com

Re: codes....

This code is normally the output speed sensor going bad. But try to clean first the connector on it, it could contain moisture or have corroded pin(s).

Re: codes....

Re: codes....

Iīm not sure which type of connector is there. Isnīt it the one with the red locking tab, which you have to shift to lock it?
