Suggestions for stock in dash radio?
Any suggestions for a replacement for my non navigation radio? I have a 430 and would like to replace it with an in dash (Not motorized flip up screen) unit. Likely aftermarket. Obviously I would want it to work with rear camera, and unconnect. Since U connect is part of the radio I guess something in it's place as well as steering wheel control. Is such a thing out there? Or am I better off waiting for a used 430N to come along?

I like my Alpine head unit in my old truck. It supports external video cameras and I believe might even have an interface for steering wheel control.

+1 to the Alpines, also check out Pioneer, Kenwood and other multi media units on Crutchfield. The car MM technology is still evolving, much like the Uconnect, but it's getting pretty good.

Re: Suggestions for stock in dash radio?
I have always liked Pioneer units. I currently have a Pioneer X920BT in my older Lexus. Works decently and does everything from bluetooth, streams music, DVD player, MP3, USB, micro SD, aux in, camera etc etc... I was decently priced as well I think after a $100 rebate it was like just under $600 bucks.
I will say though I prefer the OEM units over aftermarket. If you can hold off and find a used RER or RHB I would do that. Then you dont have to worry about finding a way to get the uconnect to work and stuff. Its just all around much more factory integrated, not to mention with the aftermarket you would lose steering wheel controls which is something I absolutely would not do.

Re: Suggestions for stock in dash radio?
i have a pioneer in my WK. Avic f90BT.

PArts needed:

1. pioneer sirius adapter
2. new sirius box
3. FM antenna adapter
4. Faceplate adapter
5. Main harness interface
6. SW controls interface.

all that was about 300 and I SHOPPED EVERY item. then the cost of the head unit/?? I was lucky and paid 400 for a used AVIC, new was about a Grand.

so take all that into consideration.

in the end i should have waited for the myGig adapter and would have saved some coin.

just my 2

This may be worth a look. Not the same strong brand recognition as the other after market mfgs though.
