Alcantara dash...done
So despite suffering a bout of 'man flu', I decided to put my week off to good use and head towards finishing my interior work.

Today I had a go at the instrument cluster area and in short it was an absolute pain to do! I swore, I shouted, I cried a little, shouted some more, kicked a tree and swore again!

The area where the windscreen demister vents are will have to be re done. Wrapped that a few weeks back, but the heat has effected it and the glue has failed, you'll see it in the pics. I will stitch that area later on in the week.

Ok so here goes. This is how I started out...

All starting to come together

Finished :D But here > you can see where the glue failed with the heat. Easy fixed though. I'm going to run some stitching underneath to hold it in place and some HT adhesive.

Quite pleased with the final result

nice work again here.

ever think about using a very thin piping around some of the accents on the dash? i think it would compliment your work even more. either way bro, nicely done

Cheers everyone:D:thumbsup:

I was planning to do a 'how to', but I quickly realised that it was goin to be way harder to do this area than I thought. That along with me coughing up my lungs and snot running down my face every five minutes, caused that idea to go out te window. I will do one for the doors and other areas I've got left to do. It really isn't that difficult, well usually lol. As I've said I've never worked with fabric before this.

Moe, Kyle, I'd be up for a Stone Cold World Tour!
(Kyle your CD's are on the way lol)

Tilla, I was sitting in my Jeep staring at the end result and I did have a brief thought about piping or something similar. Ideally I would hae loved stitching along all the edges, but that way beyond anything I'm capable of. I'm still pondering the perforated leather idea you suggested. My Jeep tends to get pretty dirty around the door jams, so I'll have to think if covering all the lower door panels would work or just cover that horrible fuzzy bit in the leather.

So all I have left now, is the lower section of the dash and glovebox, the remaining three doors, the headliner and the trunk.

Yep, I'm pimpin' the trunk too:o:D
